Goodbye 2009!

2009 was a doozie of a year. Wes & I sold our home the first of the year, moved into an apartment and did a whole gut-to-the-studs (in & out) remodel on a octagon home we bought several years ago. I did all the tile work, first time at attempting something like that and also installed the main level wood floors, first time to do that also. I hand textured all the ceilings and walls and it turned out so beautiful. We moved in the first of October. We still have the garage to build, the exterior will be finished then and at that point I'll be able to just in and start the yard. I've been doing massive research into gardening ideas and will be quite ready to take on the challenges of designing the yard and growing our own food.
2009 had a few heartbrakes with the loss of our future Grandson in his 3 1/2 months of development. I consider myself the Grandma of an angel. Our daughter also loss her cat "Smokey" shortly after the loss of her child and following that we loss our "Callie" Cat to old age. I've been told things come in 3's and it surely did for us.
We had good things happen also, Cyndi & Bill got married during the summer and they are again pregnant! We were told on November 15th, our Anniversary. We are guarded and pray that all turns out for the best! Hopefully this time next year Bill & Cyndi will be parents and we will be Grandparents!
2010 - The year went so fast!

My Watercolor Painting

I have loved art all my life. Over the years, I've been so busy working and building a life with my husband that my fine art (canvas & paper) had to be put aside. In 1999, I went into Faux Finishing. I was able to work through our construction company on custom home projects, several homes our company designed and built to the faux finish and of course our personal homes. I am just now starting to get back into watercolor painting, I have a lot to relearn! My kitties have never been around this type of painting and "George" constantly tries to walk over my paper while I'm trying to work on it. He wants to paint too!

Gardening Fills My World!

I am a avid gardener! I love getting my hands in the earth and planting babies and watching them grow! I'm a big-time composter and my next yard project is going to be all raised planters for growing veggies!

A simple aging woman

I hope you enjoy my blog. It's nice to have a place to go just to write and read what's on other people's minds. We live in such an amazing world. I just realized today that my desk top Webster's Dictionary does not have the word "Recycle" in it. It's 50 years old. Published a year after I was born. We've come a long way.
